Bandhan honors the relationship between brothers and sisters. The day of the
full moon in the Hindu lunar month of Shravana—which normally comes in
August—is when it is traditionally observed. Sisters give their brothers a holy
thread known as a "rakhi" to wrap around their wrists at Raksha

for and support their sisters.
This holiday has special meaning for confirming sibling love and affection. Additionally,
it is a time when families get together, exchange gifts, and enjoy delectable
meals and treats.
