G20 2023 Date and Venue:

The 18th meeting of the G20 Leaders of State and Government will take place in New Delhi on September 9 and 10, 2023, in the Pragati Maidan. The summit will be the culmination of all of the G20 events that took place during the year, including those of ministers, top government officials, and representatives of civil society organizations.

What is discussed at the G20?

The G20 was established in 1999 as a platform for central bank governors and finance ministers from the major developed and developing nations to discuss global financial concerns in light of the Asian financial crisis.

As a result of the 2008 financial crisis, it evolved into the Leaders' Summit, a venue for presidents and prime ministers to meet for two days in order to discuss ways to address the world's economic issues.
The G20 leaders' successive gatherings, which took place in 2008 in Washington, DC, 2009 in Pittsburgh, and 2009 in London, have now established themselves as yearly events.

Prior to summits, senior officials known as "sherpas" negotiate the topics to be covered in order to persuade the G20 members to establish a consensus during the summit.
