In his first Hindi film, Atlee is co-writing and directing Jawan, an upcoming action thriller in the Hindi language. Red Chillies Entertainment, under the direction of Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma, produces it. Along with Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone (in a special appearance), Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra, Shah Rukh Khan plays two characters in the movie.

Beginning in September 2021, principal photography began in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan, and Aurangabad. Anirudh Ravichander composed the soundtrack and background music for the movie, which also included G. K. Vishnu for the photography and Ruben for the editing.

Release Date:

On September 7, 2023, Jawan will be released in Hindi along with dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions in conventional, IMAX, 4DX, and other premium formats. The movie's initial release date was set for June 2, 2023. It was revealed later in May 2023 that the movie has been postponed till August 2023. 

The movie was later said to be coming out on the scheduled day, but it was later confirmed to be out on September 7, 2023. The first Indian movie to screen in the IMAX Leonberg, the biggest movie theater in the world, is Jawan. Additionally, it is the first Hindi movie to be released simultaneously in Bangladesh.

Story:

Former commando Vikram Rathore now works with a group of six ladies to carry out heists around the nation. They take over the Mumbai Metro one day. In a separate plot, Vikram discovers quickly that his long-lost son, Azaad Rathore, is a police officer who is being pursued by Kalee, the fourth-largest weapons dealer in the world and his former adversary. He resolves to make amends by finally eliminating Kalee and putting pressure on the government to comply with his demands.
